A new society has been formed -- The Society for Affective Science. Its mission is to foster basic and applied research in the variety of fields that study affect, broadly defined.

Our inaugural conference will be April 24-26, 2014 in Washington DC. This will be a student-friendly, open, and theoretically / methodologically diverse conference that will provide a forum for cross-cutting work in emotion, stress, and many of the other topics that fall under the broad umbrella of affective science.
For more information, and to get early-bird registration rates, see the society website:

Lab moves west

EHPL moves to UCSF.

After 6 great years at Harvard, we are excited to announce that the Emotion, Health and Psychophysiology Lab is moving to University of California, San Francisco. Professor Mendes has accepted the Sarlo/Ekman endowed chair in Emotion in the Department of Psychiatry at UCSF and will be setting up EHPL this fall at the Parnassus campus in the Langley Porter Institute. She will be joined by Dr. Koslov who has accepted a research scientist position in the lab, and former EHPL summer intern Kate Reilly will be joining as the lab manager.
