Alexis Chin
Alexis is a rising senior at the University of San Francisco majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology and Child and Youth Studies. She is interested in intergenerational trauma and the effects of intersectionality on mental health and social awareness. Alexis plans on pursuing a graduate degree in Clinical Psychology.
Brian Gao
Brian is a rising junior at the University of California, Riverside, where he is majoring in Psychology. His research interests include social and positive psychology, with a specific emphasis on interventions that can help alleviate stress and anxiety. He hopes to attend medical school or a graduate Ph.D. program.
Caimiao (Cai) Liu
Cai is a rising senior at Duke University majoring in Psychology and Sociology. She is interested in studying the dynamics of emotion and its relationship with well-being. More specifically, she wants to use a lens of cultural psychology. She expects to learn more about physiology measures this summer.
Carolyn Ji
Carolyn is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan where she studied Psychology and will soon start at Cornell University. She is interested in studying interpersonal relationships and emotions, especially the experiences of romantic couples. In the future, she hopes to obtain a Ph.D. degree in Social Psychology and become and relationship science researcher.
Charlize Ea
Charlize is a recent graduate from the University of California, Berkeley where she studied Psychology. Her research interests include the neuropsychological and psychophysiological mechanisms behind human emotion and behavior. Charlize hopes to continue her education through graduate school and eventually pursue a career in clinical neuropsychology.
Daniel (Dan) Li
Dan is a rising sophomore at the University of California, Los Angeles pursuing a Psychology major with a minor in Film and TV. His research interests include the effectiveness of different parenting styles and sleep’s role in children's social and academic development. He hopes to one day create his own TV series teaching teenagers psychology.
Ellie Sabel
Ellie is a rising junior at Oberlin College, where she is majoring in Psychology with minors in Spanish and Creative Writing. She is interested in investigating the relationship between psychophysiology and intergroup discrimination, particularly in how racial biases tend to develop and differ regionally across the United States.
Hridini Dave
Hridini is an incoming junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is majoring in Psychology on the pre-med track with a minor in Health Technology. Her current research interests include the impact of alcohol and general substance use on emotional processes in social and non-social drinking environments. She plans to pursue psychiatry in the future, with a focus on substance use.
Lily Beckwith
Lily is a rising junior at Tulane University, where she is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Anthropology and Gender and Sex Studies. Her interests include psychopathology, child and adolescent psychology, and social psychology. After graduating, she hopes to pursue a PhD in Clinical Psychology.
Max Samuelson
Max graduated from the University of California, Davis this spring with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. His primary research interest is the intersection between personality, dynamic systems, and health behaviors. He hopes to attend graduate school to pursue a Ph.D. in personality psychology and continue conducting research.
Natalie Strayton
Natalie is a rising junior at Mount Holyoke College majoring in Psychology and minoring in Italian. Her research interests include the scientific underpinnings of what makes people happier, the physiological bases of emotions and the mind-body connection, and how Buddhist practices such as meditation can have profound effects on well-being. She ultimately plans to pursue a PhD in social psychology to conduct further research.
Priscilla Tso
Priscilla is a rising senior at Boston University pursing a degree in Psychology. She is interested in positive and social psychology, and particularly interested in social inequalities and their psychophysiological impacts. After graduation, she plans to pursue a PhD in social psychology or clinical psychology.
Queenie Liu
Queenie is a rising senior at the University of California, Irvine where she is majoring in Psychology and minoring in Biological Sciences. Her primary research interests include using interdisciplinary approaches to investigate emotion regulation and mental health care utilization in psychotic spectrum disorders, as well as advancing culturally congruent mental health interventions for underrepresented populations. After graduation, she hopes to continue pursuing research and clinical practice with a PhD in Clinical Psychology.
Rui Wang
Rui is a fourth-year psychology student from the University of California, Irvine. He is interested in positive emotion, well-being, psychophysiology, stress, and leisure. He plans to pursue a Health Psychology PhD. In his free time, Rui likes watching and playing basketball, hiking, and cooking.
Seth Kosanovich
Seth is a rising senior at Knox College, double majoring in Psychology and Integrative Business Management. He is interested in developmental and athletic psychology, and how these two fields overlap for creating a healthy environment for youth athletes. After graduation, he hopes to pursue a PhD.
Sonia Shah
Sonia is a rising senior at Carleton College majoring in Psychology. She is interested in how the impacts of discrimination against marginalized groups affects their health. She is also interested in the relationship between psychiatric disorders and one’s physical health. Sonia hopes to attend medical school and pursue psychiatry.
Zoe Alarcon
Zoe is double majoring in Psychology and Philosophy at Amherst College. She is interested in the causes of anxiety, depression, and OCD as well as how Zen Buddhist, creative, bodily-focused, and other practices may prevent or improve mental illnesses. She hopes to eventually work in psychological research or clinical psychology.
